DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

Build and maintain the infrastructure that powers ANED's applications. Design CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure, and ensure high availability for mission-critical systems across Africa.

What You'll Do

• ▸ Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment
• ▸ Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• ▸ Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi
• ▸ Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability stacks
• ▸ Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration
• ▸ Implement security best practices and compliance automation
• ▸ Optimize infrastructure costs and performance
• ▸ Conduct incident response and post-mortems

What We're Looking For

• ▸ 4+ years DevOps or SRE experience
• ▸ Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP
• ▸ Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi
• ▸ Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes
• ▸ Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• ▸ Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
• ▸ Strong Linux system administration skills
• ▸ Understanding of networking and security fundamentals

Nice to Have

• ▸ Experience with AWS Africa (Cape Town) or Azure South Africa regions
• ▸ Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2)
• ▸ Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
• ▸ Familiarity with GitOps workflows
